Douglas A. Glass is a full-time mediator in San Diego, California, and devotes his entire professional practice exclusively to mediations. Fee Schedule

BASIC RATES AND CHARGES

  • Three hours or less: $1,650 (this is a fixed minimum charge).
  • Half day (four hours): $2,100
  • Full day (eight hours): $4,000
  • Extra time beyond the above scheduled fees shall be billed at the rate of $500.00 per hour.

There shall be a minimum charge equal to the amount of time reserved for the mediation session, regardless of the amount of time actually expended for the mediation. Some examples are: a mediation scheduled for eight hours that ends after six hours will still be billed for a full day rate; a mediation scheduled for four hours that ends after three hours will still be billed for a half day rate; a mediation scheduled for three hours that ends after five hours will be billed at the minimum fixed rate of $1,650.00, plus an additional charge of $500/hour for each additional hour beyond the reserved time. Fees and costs are the responsibility of both the responsible law firm and their client(s) or the party in pro per.

RESERVATIONS AND DEPOSIT

The initial deposit shall be equal to the applicable charges for the number of hours reserved for the mediation session as set forth above. The deposit will be allocated equally among the parties, unless otherwise agreed, and invoiced directly to the responsible law firm or party in pro per. In order to reserve a time and date for your mediation, Glass Mediations must receive the initial deposit from all parties within the time period as set forth on your Deposit Invoice. When the full deposit is received in a timely manner, the session is deemed confirmed. In the event all parties have not paid their pro rata share of the deposit in a timely manner, the scheduled mediation session may be vacated and offered to parties in other cases we are currently scheduling.

CANCELLATION AND POSTPONEMENT

If you cancel, postpone or reschedule your mediation less than ten (10) business days before the scheduled mediation session, there will be a cancellation or postponement charge equal to 50% of the initial deposit due. In the event Glass Mediations schedules another matter for the vacated session date and reserved time, the cancellation or postponement charge will be waived or modified. An additional deposit will be required, as set forth above, in order to confirm any rescheduled mediation session.

BALANCES DUE

In the event the total fees and costs charged by Glass Mediations exceeds the initial deposit, a final balance due will be allocated equally among the parties, unless otherwise agreed, and invoiced directly to the responsible law firm or party in pro per. Final payment shall be due upon receipt of the invoice.

Thank you for choosing Glass Mediations!
